Gregory Philpot, 58, died after his motorcycle collided with a Ford Explorer driven by George Pickett, 38, in Middletown, Ohio in Butler County. The accident occured around 10:15 p.m. on October 19, 2014 on Tytus Avenue when the Explorer was driving east on Tytus and the motorcycle west on Tytus. The Explorer crossed the center line and struck the motorcycle, ejecting Philpot from the motorcycle. Philpot was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and died at the scene. The driver of the Explorer was not injured. No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.

A motorcyclist who officials say was speeding too fast for a tight curve crashed near Sundance Saturday afternoon. The rider was driving eastbound on the Alpine Loop between Sundance and Aspen Grove around 1:45 p.m., when he lost control of the motorcycle and was ejected. The rider was not wearing a helmet and sustained severe head trauma. He was flown by helicopter to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in extremely critical condition. Drug use is being investigated as a factor in the crash. There were no passengers.

Justin Greaves, 39, of West Valley City died at the scene when he laid his bike down to avoid a car turning left into his path while attempting to enter a gas station at  3900 South, 500 West in South Salt Lake, Utah.  Graves was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Ryan D. Knopsnider, 31, died of blunt-force injuries to his head and neck after his motorcycle traveled off the west side of Freeman Falls Road in Mt. Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County and hit a utility pole. Speed is believed to have been a factor, and Knopsnider was not wearing a helmet.

David McGivney and Paul Rodrigues were riding ATVs on Bailey Street when Rodrigues was rear-ended by Mcgivney, causing both men to sustain serious injuries. Neither was wearing proper head gear. Rodrigues sustained severe head trauma and later died at a hospital. Mcgivney was charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment, driving without a helmet, and for not having any insurance.

At around 4:00am, a 25-year-old motorcyclist was turning into the parking lot for Hard Rock Casino, when his front tire hit a median and he was thrown from the vehicle. He was critically injured and taken to Tampa General Hospital. He was not wearing a helmet during the crash.

A motorcycle rider was killed Sunday night in a head-on collision with a car that was passing another vehicle, authorities said. Around 5:40 p.m, Steven B. Lazzell was riding his motorcycle east on Johnson Avenue near Kalogridis Road when a car driven by Steven J. Maffia was traveling west in the eastbound lane while passing another vehicle. The motorcycle and car hit head on, throwing Lazzell from his motorcycle and sending the car into a ditch. Lazzell was not wearing a helmet.

Officials with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and the Stoddard Fire Department said Degraw died after an ATV accident Saturday. Authorities said the victim had been with five other people but was separated from the rest. They said the group found him unconscious and breathing. The victim died 45 minutes after crews arrived at the scene. They said he was not wearing a helmet.

John Corbin, a DeLand motorcyclist died Monday after he was injured in a crash with a vehicle at the intersection of Kepler Road and Mimosa Lane at 7 p.m. Friday. Corbin’s Harley was hit by a Honda Civic driven by Richard Shea, 27, also of DeLand. Corbin, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach where he was pronounced deceased on Monday. The crash continues to be investigated and charges are pending.

Michael Anthony Reese was bicycling on NC 168 when he was hit by a car. Reese was wearing dark clothing, had no reflectors or lights, and no helmet. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No alcohol or drugs were involved in the crash.
