Several Humble ISD elementary students were injured Tuesday morning after their school bus was involved in an accident in northwest Harris County. The district said the accident happened around 7:45 p.m. on FM 1960 near W. Lake Houston. Humble ISD said the bus was transporting six special education students to Summerwood Elementary when it was rear ended by a Honda Civic. Officials reported that one student bumped his head. As a precaution, all of the students on the bus, the driver of the Civic and the child passenger were taken to Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital, the district said

Passengers were hospitalized after a tour bus traveling from Los Angeles was involved in a crash late Monday night with a truck in the Central Valley. The crash occurred in Tulare about 170 miles north of Los Angeles. The bus, which struck the rear of the truck, was bound for Yakima, Wash. At least 15 people, including the 60-year-old driver, were hospitalized with minor injuries after the crash on northbound State Route 99 , according to the California Highway Patrol. Thirty-six people were aboard the bus, operated by Fronteras Del Norte.

One person was killed after a crash involving a pick-up truck and a charter bus in Bucks County early Monday morning. The deadly accident happened at about 5 a.m. in the southbound lanes of Route 309 at Pumping Station Road in Quakertown. According to investigators, the pick-up truck rear-ended the charter bus. The driver of the pick-up truck was killed. The identity of the driver was not released. It was not immediately known if there were any passengers aboard the charter bus. The deadly crash remains under investigation.

A woman was killed in a motorcycle accident on the Gulf Freeway Sunday night. It happened around 9 p.m. in the inbound lanes of Interstate 45 at Edgebrook in southeast Houston. According to police, a motorcyclist rear ended a minivan and the female passenger on the motorcycle died at the scene. The driver was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition. Police said it's unclear which driver was at fault. The accident is under investigation.

Harding University in Searcy says a student returning from her home in Spring, Texas, for the spring semester was killed in an auto accident on Interstate 30 in southwestern Arkansas. The university's website says 20-year-old Kailey Massey died in the collision near Arkadelphia Saturday afternoon. An Arkansas State Police report says Massey was eastbound on the interstate about 4:30 p.m. when she crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer. The report says the driver of the rig was not injured. Harding says Massey was a junior communication sciences and disorders major.

Police say four people were injured late Tuesday night following a hit-and-run crash in the Bankers Hill area of San Diego. The wreck occurred at 10:30 p.m. at the corner of 5th Avenue and Laurel Street, a San Diego Police Department official said. Witnesses stated that a white Jaguar slammed into two vehicles waiting at a stop light at 5th Avenue then sped off westbound on Laurel Street, leaving a trail of radiator fluid behind. Some of the witnesses followed the suspect vehicle and called police, until the Jaguar came to a sputtering halt on the 2400 block of Brant Street.

Two people were taken to the hospital after a traffic crash Wednesday afternoon, according to Kauai police. The incident happened at about 2:40 p.m. on Kuhio Highway near the Hokualele Road junction in Anahola. Police say a motorcycle was heading south on the highway when it rear-ended a Nissan sedan traveling in front of it. The operator of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old man, and his passenger, a 41-year-old woman, were transported to Wilcox Hospital with serious injuries. According to police, the male and female occupants in the sedan were not injured.

Washington State Patrol says speed and intoxicants were factors in a crash on Interstate 5 Sunday night in Vancouver. Kevin W. Smith, 52, of Kelso was reportedly driving south on Interstate 5 about 6 p.m. in a 2002 Chrysler Sebring when he rear-ended a Honda Accord near Northeast 134th Street, according to state patrol. A juvenile passenger in the Accord was injured and transported to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center. The passenger’s name was not released and her condition is unknown. Smith was also injured and taken to Legacy Salmon Creek.

A man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving in Santa Rosa Friday evening after allegedly causing a five-car crash that left three people injured, police said Saturday. Police said the collision occurred around 5:15 p.m., when a Toyota Tacoma speeding down Hoen Avenue toward Yulupa Avenue rear-ended a car stopped at a red light. The force of the crash caused three more cars stopped at the light to collide, causing major damage to each of the cars and leaving three drivers with minor injuries, police said. One of the drivers was taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries.

An Owings Mills man was killed Sunday morning after his car crashed into the back of a tractor trailer on the Baltimore Beltway in Pikesville, officials said. Bennie Lee Shaw Jr., 34, was driving on the outer loop of the Beltway near Greenspring Avenue at 4:36 a.m. when his 2005 Audi A8 rear-ended a 1999 International tractor trailer, according to the Maryland State Police. Shaw was trapped in the car and was rescued by Baltimore County firefighters, but was declared dead at the scene, according to the Maryland State Police. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
