Two MBTA bus drivers and three passengers suffered minor injuries this morning after their buses “made contact” while the vehicles were traveling eastbound on the Massachusetts Turnpike near the Prudential tunnel, the MBTA said. “[One] bus was traveling at reduced speeds when it made contact with the rear of the stopped bus in front of it,” a MBTA spokesman said in an e-mail. The 501 and 505 MBTA buses crashed at 8:20 a.m.

A deadly accident shut down the southbound lanes on Interstate 75 near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Hillsborough County late Tuesday evening. The roadway was closed early Wednesday morning for a clean up. It reopened around 6 a.m. A Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer says the accident involved at least six vehicles including a tractor trailer.

Investigators say one person was killed after a car slammed into the back of a trash truck in Delaware County early Tuesday morning. The accident happened at about 7:15 a.m. in the 400 block of State Road in Media. The exact cause of the deadly accident remains under investigation.

Police say a driver who sped away from an officer died in a crash minutes later on Orlando's John Young Parkway. The officer approached the vehicle Sunday evening because it was stopped in a turn lane near Interstate 4. Police say the man drove away when the officer asked him to get out of the vehicle. The man was not being chased by police officers when he crashed into the back of a minivan. The vehicle overturned. The driver, later identified as Alex Gomez-Guerrero, 20, was killed and some of the occupants of the minivan were taken to the hospital for treatment.

A fatal accident in western Travis County involving two pickup trucks killed a man and sent another patient to the hospital in critical condition just before 4 p.m. Sunday. According to the Department of Public Safety, a red Chevrolet S-10 pickup and a white pickup truck were traveling westbound on Highway 71 in Spicewood, TX. The red pickup tried to make a left turn onto Fall Creek Rd. That's when the white pickup rear-ended it. The driver of the red pickup died at the scene. Paramedics took his male passenger to UMC Brackenridge in critical condition.

Seven people were taken to the hospital with back pain after a crash on Route 28. It happened Sunday morning. According to MBTA spokesperson Joe Pesaturo, the bus was stopped at a bus stop when a car rear-ended the bus. The car appeared to have extensive front-end damage. There’s no word on whether charges will be filed.

A 32-year-old man was killed in a crash Thursday night. According to the highway patrol, the crash happened at 9:42 p.m. Thursday in the southbound lane of Interstate 85 at mile marker 102, which is in the Blacksburg city limits. To see pictures of the scene, click here. Troopers say a 2012 Dodge pick-up was traveling at a high rate of speed when it rear-ended a 1995 Mercury, overturned, and landed in the median. Both of the truck's occupants were ejected from the vehicle. Neither were wearing seat belts according to troopers.

Oberlin Police and fire responded to an accident involving two school buses at approximately 12:04 p.m. Thursday. Students from Lorain County JVS were being transported back to school from a field trip when the accident occurred. 69 people were on the bus, mostly students. One school bus rear-ended the other bus, causing the accident. The accident happened in front of the Oberlin fire station, making it easy for fire crews to respond.

Several passengers have been taken to the hospital after a Lynx bus was involved in a crash in Orange County Thursday morning. The crash occurred on North Orange Blossom Trail and Rosamond Drive in Orlando just before 10 a.m. A picture from the crash scene shows a Toyota truck crashed into the back of the Lynx bus. Orange County Fire Rescue said eight Lynx bus passengers were taken to the hospital and one person declined to be hospitalized. Orange Blossom Trail was closed as the investigation continued, but was reopened shortly after 10:30 a.m.

Two Los Angeles police officers are recovering after a suspected drunken driver crashed into them, then sped away from the scene. Investigators say the officers were traveling northbound on Vermont Avenue, just south of 74th Street, when they were rear-ended by a white BMW around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. The officers' vehicle was disabled in the crash, and the suspect's car received front-end damage and a broken rim.
