A pilot was killed and two teens were injured after a small single-engine plane from Chicago crashed in the median of a six-lane street in Florida early Saturday morning.
The plane was traveling to St. Pete/Clearwater Airport from Chicago when it crashed around 4 a.m. on McMullen Booth and Enterprise Road in Pinellas County, officials said. It came to rest mostly in the median of the six-lane street.
There were three people on the plane at the time of the crash, according to authorities.
The Okeechobee County Sheriff's office made a surprising discovery recently after deputies responded to a single vehicle accident.
The crash happened on March 21st in the 168th block of Highway 441 North.
Deputies found the driver of the car, Abey DiazPino, age 44, dead at the scene. The sheriff's office then turned the investigation over to Florida Highway Patrol.

Cale Drumm, 39, of Stillwater, was driving a 1967 Ford Mustang on McMurtry Road west of Stillwater shortly before 6:45 p.m. Friday when he ran off the right side of the road. Drumm then swerved left, sending the car into a broad slide, troopers reported. The car then ran off the left side of the road, striking a tree.
Troopers reported Drumm was driving at an unsafe speed at the time of the crash. He was transported to OU Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:21 p.m. Friday.
Aubrey Baty was driving east in the westbound lane of I-40 near Czech Hall Road shortly before 11:30 p.m. Friday when he struck a semi truck driven by Humberto Ortego Jr., 64, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
Baty, of Mustang, was pinned for a half hour before Oklahoma City firefighters pulled him from the wreckage, troopers said. He was transported to OU Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
A father died in a crash in Waverly Friday evening.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 35-year-old Brad Hilton lost control of his SUV while maneuvering a curve along Meadow Run Road around 7:30 p.m. The vehicle went off the road and overturned.
Hilton was not wearing a seatbelt. He was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
Hilton's 15-year-old daughter survived the crash. She was flown to Nationwide Children's Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
