A woman is in the hospital after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 6 in northwest Harris County. According to Harris County deputies, the 30-year-old victim was trying to cross the intersection at Kieth Harrow Boulevard early Wednesday morning when the vehicle hit her. Officials say the driver did not stop. Deputies said Life Flight airlifted the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital in serious, but stable condition. She’s expected to survive. Investigators do not have a description of the wanted vehicle.

Maryland State Police said they were investigating a fatal accident Wednesday morning in Prince George’s County, as officials throughout the area warned drivers to slow down because of icy road conditions caused when Tuesday night’s snow melted and freezing temperatures made roads slick. The fatal accident occurred around 5 a.m. on the westbound side of Route 214 and St. Michaels Drive in Kettering, where police responded to a report of an overturned 1994 Dodge pick-up truck on the road. The driver, an adult male, was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

Two people were transported Wednesday morning to area hospitals after a two-vehicle crash on Route 283 westbound in East Hempfield Township in which a Jeep Wrangler overturned. The driver of the Wrangler was ejected from the vehicle, but suffered injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, township police said. The crash occurred around 6:03 a.m. and briefly blocked both westbound lanes of Route 283 in the area of Spooky Nook Road.

Metro Police have reopened Spring Mountain Road near Decatur Boulevard following a crash that left a woman pedestrian dead Wednesday morning. The 45-year-old woman was struck and killed by a van shortly before 6 a.m. Police say the woman pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when she was hit. According to police, she was walking with a man who was pushing a shopping cart. He made it to the other side of the street and was yelling to the woman to get out of the road when she was struck. She was taken to University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities say three children were taken to a hospital for evaluation of minor injuries after an accident involving a school bus and a snow plow in Portsmouth. Police say the driver of a private plow failed to stop at the end of Middle Road and struck a school bus at the intersection of Union Street just before 8 a.m. Wednesday. There were as many as 55 students on the bus and three were taken to Newport Hospital. The uninjured students were put on another bus and continued on to school. The crash remains under investigation. No names were released.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says two vehicles were traveling northbound on Highway 79 near Winfield around 2 p.m. when they collided. One of the vehicles was sent into the southbound lane and slammed head-on into a truck. The driver of the truck, 48-year-old Dennis Stevens, died at the scene. The other driver involved in the head-on crash was taken to Mercy Hospital in serious condition.

A tanker truck driver is in critical condition after his truck crashed on Interstate 95 in Mansfield this morning, officials said.

The driver, who has not been identified, was rushed by North Attleborough first responders to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence with “substantial injuries,” said the Mansfield Fire Chief.

The vehicle crashed into the median near Exit 6A/B connecting to Interstate 495 at about 5 a.m., causing significant traffic delays along Interstate 95 in Mansfield.

A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 71 south has resulted in a headache for drivers trying to get into Louisville.

The Oldham County Police Department said the accident was reported at 9:26 a.m. at the 12.5 mile marker, just north of the Oldham County/Jefferson County line.

Donald Huffman, a 45-year-old man from Anaconda, died in a motorcycle crash Tuesday afternoon on Montana Secondary Highway 569 near mile marker 3.3 in Deer Lodge County.

According to a dispatcher from Montana Highway Patrol, Huffman was riding his Harley-Davidson northbound on 569 when he went off the right side of the road. Huffman quickly turned left, making his way back on the pavement. The motorcycle then flipped onto its side.

A Travelers Rest man has died from injuries he sustained in a traffic accident on Tuesday night on Tubbs Mountain Road, the coroner said.

David Christopher Miller, 34, of 7 Horseback Way, died at 2:56 a.m. Thursday of blunt force trauma to the head, according to Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans.

Miller, who was wearing a seatbelt, was driving a 1993 Eagle Talon when he lost control, struck a wooden fence and then hit trees at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday night, Evans said.

Two other people in the car were treated for non-life threatening injuries, he said.
