Police said Tuesday they looking for a Ford Mustang with a broken windshield they believe was involved in the weekend hit-and-run crash that left a 27-year-old woman dead in Ocean Beach. The victim, identified as Amber Schei, was crossing in the middle of Nimitz Boulevard on a skateboard late Friday or early Saturday when she was struck, San Diego police Detective Dan Wall said. Her body was found by a passerby at 6:05 a.m. in some ice plant, just south of the Interstate 8 on ramp near Robb Field. Wall said she had been dead for several hours.

Ithaca's Police Chief suffers minor injuries, and the search is on for the other driver after a two car crash. It happened on the corner of West Clinton Street and South Plain Street. Detectives say Chief John Barber was in an unmarked car when the other driver turned into his lane and hit him head on. Barber was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The suspect and passenger in the second vehicle ran from the scene. Police say witnesses claim the suspect was drunk. An open bottle of rum was found in the vehicle.

The Will County State's Attorney early Tuesday morning approved charges against the driver of a vehicle that struck a 14-year-old girl and drove off. The incident happened at about 8:30 p.m. Monday on South Chicago Street, also known as Route 53, and Pheasant Run Road, in Joliet.

A man is dead after a crash Wednesday night on Highway 25 in Laurel County.

Investigators say a Dodge Neon pulled out from Hazel Patch Road onto southbound U.S. 25 in front of a Harley Davidson motorcycle heading northbound.

The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from his bike. He's been identified as Randolph Scott, 71, of Lexington. He was airlifted from the scene to UK Hospital with critical injuries. He died Wednesday night.

A construction worker is dead, killed in a hit and run as he worked on I-459 early Friday morning. It happened around 3:40 a.m. in the active ALDOT construction zone near mile marker 11. Hoover Police confirmed that the victim was identified as Randy Keith Berry, 59, of Cullman. He died on the scene. According to authorities, the vehicle that hit him left the scene. The vehicle was later located in Hoover. Investigators are now interviewing the driver.

Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle who investigators with the Delray Beach Police Department said hit a 20-year-old woman while she was rollerblading along Atlantic Avenue. Detectives said the collision between car and person happened on Tuesday morning around 1:00 a.m. on the west side of the Intracoastal bridge. Witnesses said while taking a breather on the Atlantic Avenue intra-coastal bridge with friends, Bucala was hit from behind by a car. The driver then sped off in the direction of downtown.

A man was struck by an SUV and killed early Saturday three blocks from his home in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. Artiz McBride, 20, was struck by the SUV while he was crossing the street about 12:45 a.m. in the 0 – 100 block of South Central Avenue, authorities said. The SUV then sped away, police said. McBride, of the 0 – 100 block of North Long Avenue, was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 2:23 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Police have identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run crash in Stonington as 51-year-old Grover Moree, of the Pawcatuck section of Stonington. Moree was struck near Route 2 and Route 78 just after 5 a.m. Friday and was flown by LifeStar to Rhode Island Hospital, where he died, police said. Police said they are looking for a gray vehicle that fled the scene, heading north on Route 2. Authorities are following leads and continue to investigate.

Police on Long Island are investigating a hit and run accident in Mineola this morning. The accident happened near Jericho Turnpike and Congress Avenue around 9:00 on Friday. Authorities say a vehicle struck a pedestrian, who then flew into another oncoming car. The second vehicle stopped, but police say the first vehicle kept going. The victim is a man, but his condition was not immediately known. Witnesses say the fleeing vehicle was a gray Jetta. They say others tried to get the female driver to stop, but she kept going.
