Police on Long Island are investigating a hit and run accident in Mineola this morning. The accident happened near Jericho Turnpike and Congress Avenue around 9:00 on Friday. Authorities say a vehicle struck a pedestrian, who then flew into another oncoming car. The second vehicle stopped, but police say the first vehicle kept going. The victim is a man, but his condition was not immediately known. Witnesses say the fleeing vehicle was a gray Jetta. They say others tried to get the female driver to stop, but she kept going.

Two people died in a 4-vehicle pileup that was caused by a hit-and-run crash Thursday night. The crash happened at 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of West Lane and Frontage Road in Stockton. Stockton police said a white Honda SUV was going northbound on West Lane when it ran a red light and crashed into an Acura. The Acura then crashed into two other cars driving near the intersection. It is unclear what direction the cars were traveling when the crash happened. Sokhunthear Hin, 18, and Ritche Rasmee 20, who were inside the Acura, were pronounced dead at the scene.

An apparent hit-and-run victim found lying in front of his San Carlos home Thursday morning has died. A neighbor spotted the 51-year-old man unconscious on his driveway in the 8000 block of Beaver Lake Drive shortly after 5 a.m., according to San Diego police. Medics took him to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the late morning, a SDPD public affairs officer said. The victim's name was withheld pending family notification. Patrol officers called in traffic investigators, who concluded that the man had been hit by a vehicle of unknown type.

A pedestrian was found dead in South LA early Wednesday morning as a result of a hit-and-run crash, according to Los Angeles police. The initial report involved a possible gun shot wound victim on the ground near 120th Street and Figueroa Street around 12:40 a.m., but when police arrived they discovered the man was a hit-and-run crash victim. It appears the victim was standing or walking in the middle of the street at the time of the crash, police said. The pedestrian died at the scene. He was described as a male, 30 to 40 years old.

Authorities are questioning several people to determine who was driving a car that struck and killed a 3-year-old San Mateo boy. Morgan Wallace Calaway died Tuesday night after he somehow escaped from a family member's home and wandered into the street. Florida Highway Patrol officials said he was struck by a white Honda. Authorities found the car a few miles away after the accident.

Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian Monday morning. Officer Daniel Hudson with the Norfolk Police Department stated that the crash occurred around 6:40 a.m. in the 900 block of West Ocean View Avenue. Upon arrival, emergency crews found a man suffering from what appears to be at this time non-life threatening injuries. The pedestrian was transported to DePaul Hospital for treatment and his condition is unknown at this time. Hudson said the vehicle that struck the pedestrian did not remain on scene. There is no description of that vehicle at this time.

Charges are pending against a man in a hit-and-run crash in the Austin neighborhood that killed Jennie Davis, 64, according to police. Davis was struck by a vehicle in the 5500-block of North Avenue on the city's West Side at 9:40 p.m. Sunday. She was pronounced dead at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. "He hit one parked car then he hit another car the lady was crossing the street in the intersection he hit her she flew up in the air and came down he sped off in his car," a witness, said.

Police continue to search for the driver who was involved in a hit and run accident over the weekend. Just before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, police said a woman was trying to cross Albemarle Road at the intersection of North Sharon Amity Road when a white older model Jeep Grand Cherokee hit her midway and fled the scene. Police said MEDIC took Tonia Marie Payne, 43, to Carolinas Medical Center. Payne was originally listed in serious condition. Her condition has been upgraded to fair, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

A Gastonia man has died nearly a week after investigators say he was hit by two vehicles while crossing the street. Investigators say both drivers left the scene. According to investigators with the Gastonia Police Department, 53-year-old John Wayne King died at Carolinas Medical Center from his injuries. King was involved in a hit and run at East Long Avenue and Broad Street last Friday. According to a witness, King was walking in the crosswalk across the intersection when he was struck by a white sports utility vehicle followed by another sedan.

Police in Pine Bluff say the suspected driver in a fatal hit-and-run collision that killed a teenager has been arrested. Police told reporters that 14-year-old Charles Jones was killed Friday night when he was struck while crossing U.S. 79 on the city's south side. Police say witnesses reported that the driver left the scene -- but a car matching the description of the one that struck Jones was later found and the suspected driver arrested early Saturday.
