Burlington police are investigating a hit and run accident that happened early Sunday morning. Police say at 12:46 a.m., Amy Taylor was walking on South Main Street. When she crossed the intersection at Sixth Street, police say she was hit by "an older model Honda Accord." Taylor told police there were five people in the car. She was treated by Alamance County EMS.

Burlington police said 53-year-old Leroy Gray was hit by a vehicle while walking on Apple Street near Hall Avenue. Gray told police he was walking near the Hall Avenue intersection when a dark colored mid-size vehicle turned off Hall and hit him. The vehicle continued on Apple Street toward Rauhut Street and didn’t stop. EMS crews took Gray to Alamance Regional Medical Center with a possible bone fracture in his leg.

A motorcyclist was injured after a hit-and-run accident at Colorado Boulevard and 8th Street Saturday morning. Shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday, the Denver Police Department tweeted that there had been a hit-and-run accident at Colorado Boulevard and 8th Street involving a car and a motorcycle. DPD spokesman Sonny Jackson said a black car was traveling northbound on Colorado Boulevard when it struck a motorcyclist.

Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a skateboarder early Saturday morning. Authorities said the crash happened on the Interstate 10 service road near Bundy Road about 1:30 a.m. Investigators said the 21-year-old man was struck by a motorist and found lying on the side of the road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. There were no witnesses present at the time.

Amanda O’Malley has a very long road to recovery ahead of her. Her family says they are happy she’s alive. “To leave someone one the road to die like that is a disgrace,” Amanda’s dad, Brian O’Malley, said. Speaking outside UMass Memorial Medical Center, Brian O’Malley said his 23-year-old daughter remains in the ICU after being hit by a car while walking the family dog on Belmont Street in Worcester Friday night. “It’s really scary. Thank God someone was there and called the ambulance. There was a car there that stopped and we want to thank that person,” Brian said.

A Pompano Beach woman was arrested after she struck and killed a motorcyclist Friday, then fled and tried to cover up the evidence, deputies said. Nadia Verdoni, 42, was charged with DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene involving death and tampering with evidence, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Police have arrested a driver for a hit-and-run incident in Norwich Friday night. Officers responded to 159 Norwich Ave where a 10-year-old child was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene just before 7:00 p.m. According to police, the child suffered a leg injury and was taken to William W. Backus Hospital. His injuries are non-life threatening. The driver, Theresa Morgan of Norwich, was arrested a short time later after the accident. Morgan is charged with evading responsibility and released on a $2,500 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on March 11th.

A pedestrian was injured in a hit and run in lower Manhattan. Police say the incident took place on Bowery & Hester streets. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. Police recovered the car they believe was involved in the accident, but no word on if the suspect was captured.

An investigation is underway into a deadly hit-and-run crash early Wednesday morning in Fontana. The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at San Bernardino Avenue and Commerce Drive. Witnesses say a man was crossing the street, not in a crosswalk, when a semi-truck hit him and took off. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators have not released the victim's identity - only that he's in his 50s. So far, there are no details on the semi-truck driver.

A 68-year-old Stuart woman was in serious condition late Monday after she was injured in a hit-and-run crash that morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said. Janet T. Anastasia, was struck while walking in the area of Southeast Washington Street and Southeast Dryfus Avenue, FHP said. The crash happened just after 10:30 a.m. along the south shoulder of the roadway. Anastasia was rushed to Lawnwood Medical Center in Fort Pierce with serious injuries. According to FHP, Anastasia was struck by white Jeep SUV. A woman in the Jeep then drove away.
