Atlanta, GASmyrna police say an 8-month-old baby was killed and two other children were injured when a man accused of drunk driving crashed into a taxi head on. Authorities say Darren Curry has been charged with driving under the influence and vehicular homicide in the Sunday morning crash on Windy Hill Road. Police have said the baby and two children, ages 3 and 7, were riding with Curry. The 3-year-old suffered critical head injuries and the 7-year-old was also injured. Curry's relationship with the children is unclear.

Raleigh-Durham, NCA man faces misdemeanor charges after a passenger died in a head-on crash on a snowy Chatham County road Wednesday.
Miguel Arquimides Caseres, 45, of Siler City, was charged following a crash around 1:15 p.m. on Silk Road near Romine Pike Road.
Caseres was driving a 1996 Ford car on a snow-covered road when it crossed the center line and crashed into a 1999 Chevrolet, troopers said. The passenger in the Chevrolet died.
The passenger's name hasn't been released pending notification of next-of-kin.
Caseres also was charged with exceeding a safe speed.

Portland, ORSalem Police identified the two people killed in a car crash Tuesday evening as a McMinnville mother and her 9-year-old daughter.
Kelly Moore, 26, and one of her twin daughters, Jasmine, were declared dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred near the intersection of Turner Road Southeast and Airway Drive Southeast. They were among four passengers in a 1994 Ford Escort driven by Hannah Reitz, 28, of McMinnville.

Around 11 a.m. Sunday, authorities were called to a crash on Q Ave near South 10th Street.
Three people were hurt in the head-on crash, but all suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities are looking into the cause of the crash.

Tampa-St. Petersburg, FLA multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County claimed five lives early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred just after 2 a.m. and closed the northbound lanes of the roadway for over five hours.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report a 2001 Ford Expedition triggered the tragedy by driving south in the northbound lanes. The Expedition struck a 2010 Hyundai head-on just north of the Busch Blvd. exit in the center travel lane.
The SUV caught fire and was quickly engulfed in flames. The driver, later identified as Daniel Lee Morris 28, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friday, February 7, 2014A woman has died following a head-on crash near Simpsonville.
According to state troopers, the wreck happened around 11:25 a.m. Saturday- on E. Georgia Road just outside Simpsonville city limits.
Investigators said Joyce Mahaffey's, 70, vehicle crossed the center line, causing it to hit another vehicle head-on.
State troopers said she was not wearing a seat belt and died at the hospital a short time after the crash.
The driver was the only person in the second vehicle and was not injured.

Albuquerque-Santa Fe, NMOld Las Vegas Highway is closed in both directions near the Sunrise General Store and is expected to remain closed for several hours after a two vehicle, head-on fatal accident just after 11 a.m. this morning. The sheriff’s office’s Fatal Accident Investigation Team has just arrived on the scene, said Major Ken Johnson. The crash involved two vehicles, each with a single occupant. The female driver of a passenger vehicle was killed after colliding with an SUV driven by a man, who was taken to a local hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries, said Johnson.

Thursday, February 6, 2014A pedestrian was struck and killed in Pinole on Thursday evening by a suspected drunken driver who also collided head-on with another car, police said Friday.
A Contra Costa County coroner’s deputy identified the pedestrian as 25-year-old Diego Garcia of Pinole.
Police said Garcia was struck and killed while walking on a sidewalk on Appian Way near Marlesta Road at about 6:10 p.m. Thursday.
A 32-year-old El Sobrante woman was driving north on Appian Way when she lost control of her car and crashed head-on into a car in a southbound lane, according to police.

New York, NYOne person was killed and two injured after a head-on crash caused by a wrong-way driver on northbound Route 7 in Brookfield late Thursday, state police said.
The wrong-way driver, later identified as Alejandro Miranda 44, was killed and two passengers in a Jeep were injured and taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment. Both vehicles were destroyed. The crash was reported at 11:46 p.m. Thursday.
Those injured were identfied as Michael Finn, 39, of Brookfield, and Meghan Harrison, 29, of New Milford.

New Orleans, LAA motorist from Jefferson died Monday night from injuries he received in a three-pickup-truck crash on Louisiana 25 near Folsom, authorities said. A driver from Mount Hermon was booked with vehicular homicide, DWI and improper lane usage.
The victim was identified by State Police as Gary White, 66. He died at LSU Interim Public Hospital in New Orleans. The other drivers were not injured, police said.
