Police said several people were injured after an accident in Jefferson County Wednesday evening.

Authorities said the accident, which involved four cars, occurred near the intersection of Missouri Highway A and Old Highway A around 6:30 p.m.

According to police, a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway A crossed over the center line before side swiping two cars and hitting another one head on.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said both roads were closed for several hours.

One person was hospitalized after a car and Metro bus collided in the Dutchtown neighborhood in south St. Louis Tuesday morning.

The wreck happened at the intersection of Grand and Delor around 6:15 a.m.

Police say one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Two other people refused to be transported.

Additional details were not immediately available.

Police say a 35-year-old man was hit and killed by a semi truck on Interstate 270 in north St. Louis County on Tuesday.

According to officials, the victim was crossing the westbound lanes of the interstate between New Halls Ferry and W. Florissant when he was struck around 2:30 a.m.

Police did not identify the victim and other details surrounding the incident were not immediately available.

All westbound lanes were closed for hours while crews worked to clear the wreck. All but one lane was back open by 7 a.m.

Police in St. Louis County continue to search for the driver who struck a blind woman and her service dog. The woman and dog were crossing a street in the St. Ann area Tuesday night when they were hit by a car that left the scene. The woman suffered bruises but is recovering. The dog was treated at an animal hospital, but will need re-evaluation to determine if it can still provide service to the woman.

Police say a 17-year-old died in a car accident after the car he was driving crashed and caught fire Saturday afternoon. Officials say Jesus Pinedo-Almaraz, of Wright City, was driving southbound on Highway D, one mile north of Highway 47, when his car veered off the roadway. The vehicle then struck a tree stump, overturned and caught fire. According to police, Almaraz was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.

A motorcyclist died Friday after colliding with a semi-trailer truck in Kansas City.

Ronald Claibourne Jr., 29, was traveling east on East 31st Street about 11:30 a.m. when the collision occurred at Van Brunt Boulevard, according to a Kansas City police accident investigations supervisor.

“Witnesses said he was trying to get through the intersection before the light turned red,” police said of the motorcyclist.

A head-on collision in eastern Missouri has left three people dead and a driver hospitalized.

The crash happened at 6:30 a.m. Friday on Missouri 185 near the Washington County town of Sullivan.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a northbound pickup truck was passing another vehicle on a hill and collided with a southbound passenger car.

Authorities identified those killed as the driver of the car, 25-year-old Casey Edwards, and two passengers, 28-year-old Valerie Lewis and 56-year-old Shari Ryerson. All were residents of Sullivan.

Two mine workers are dead in an accident inside a mine in southeast Missouri. The Ste. Geneveieve County Coroner says the men were in a basket extended from a truck several feet into the air, removing loose rock from either the wall or the ceiling of the mine. Basler says loose rock hit the basket and detached it. The men fell to their death. The accident happened about 8:30 a.m. Friday inside a lime mine operated by the Mississippi Lime Co. near Ste. Genevieve, about 60 miles south of St. Louis. Basler said no one else was hurt.

Police have identified a man killed in a single vehicle accident on Thursday as Charles Dilley III, 37.

Police said Dilley was traveling east on NE 72nd at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at a stop sign. Dilley’s vehicle went airborne and landed in a wooded area just east of the intersection of N. Brighton Ave. and NE 72nd Street.

Dilley was wearing a seatbelt, however, emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

No other information has been released at this time.

A driver lost control of his or her car Thursday morning at 72nd and N. Brighton in Kansas City North Thursday morning at about 6:30 a.m., sending the car into the woods before it flipped over.

One person was killed. Police say it appears this was a single-car accident and have not yet determined or released what may have caused the driver to lose control.

The victim has not been identified.
