Manatee County emergency crews are at the scene of a crash involving two school buses. The buses crashed around 3:30 p.m. at Cortez Road and 40th Street West in Bradenton. 12 students have been transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital and Blake Medical Center with minor injuries, according to the Manatee County Fire Rescue. The buses were transporting students from H.S. Moody Elementary in Bradenton when one bus hit the other bus from behind, according to a Manatee County Schools spokesperson. Seven ambulances responded to the crash.

A 6-year-old boy was killed while trying to cross a busy Fulton County roadway with his brother on Sunday night. The Fulton County Police Department stated that the boy was with his 16-year-old brother while attempting to cross Old National Highway near Jolly Road around 6:50 p.m. Sunday. The boys were standing in the center turn lane when the younger boy ran ahead of his brother, darting into the path of an SUV. The boy, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV stopped at the scene.

A grandfather is being held in the Dallas County Jail following a motor vehicle crash that killed his five-year-old grandson. Jail officials said 52-year-old Tony Dickerson was involved in a motor vehicle crash around 9 p.m. at Beltline and Simonds in Seagoville. Police said Dickerson crashed his pick-up truck while driving with his grandson. Dickerson's five-year-old grandson, Josiah Andres Dickerson, was transported to Children's Medical Center where he was pronounced dead Sunday night.

An accident along Highway 411 Saturday night leaves one woman dead and three children and another person injured. According to the Blount County Sheriff's Office, authorities received a call around 6:44 p.m. near Ridgeway Trail on Highway 411. Deputies say Amanda Campbell, 29, of Maryville was traveling southbound on U.S. Highway 411 in a 1996 GMC Jimmy when she stopped in the fast lane due to a flat tire. Campbell then left the vehicle to try and flag down someone for assistance.

A three-car accident on State Highway 45 and Heatherwilde in Pflugerville left two people dead and three injured on Saturday. According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Services, multiple people were pinned in. The 60-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene. Two injured people were transported to Dell Children's Medical Center via Star Flight and one adult was transported to Round Rock Medical Center, later pronounced dead at the hospital.

At least two people are dead and several more injured after a wreck along a busy stretch of Oak Cliff Saturday afternoon. It happened just after 2:00 p.m. near the intersection of Jefferson Blvd. and Rosemont Avenue. It's unclear what led up to the crash or how a white vehicle and a black vehicle came into contact with each other. Both were headed westbound on Jefferson Blvd. and both hit a lamp post along the divided roadway. Residents in the area who arrive after the accident said as many as three people and a child were in the white vehicle. The driver of that vehicle died at the scene.

Four people were injured in a school bus accident in Atlanta Friday morning. The accident happened on Interstate 75 north at Howell Mill Road. Police said a vehicle apparently crossed three lanes of traffic and collided with the bus. The bus was carrying 38 Henry County students to the Governor's Mansion for a performance. Four students complained of minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital as a precaution. The remaining students will return back to the school instead of proceeding to their choral performance.

Two children were killed, and three other people were hurt after a truck and an SUV collided yesterday in Oak Grove Township at the interesection of Hwy. 35 and 468th Ave. An 11-year-old girl in the SUV died at the scene and another passenger -- a five-year-old girl -- died later at a hospital. The crash happened about 3:40 yesterday afternoon.

A car traveling west on I-64 near mile marker 106 struck a sport utility vehicle traveling east, and the driver of the car and a passenger in the SUV were killed. The 2-year-old girl was identified as Merissa Summers. The coroner said he wasn't releasing the name of the sailor, who is based in Virginia, because his family had not been notified.

A child was critically injured and four other people were also hurt in a multi-vehicle crash on the Chicago Skyway late Wednesday afternoon. At least two semi trucks and three other vehicles collided about 4:30 p.m. in the inbound lanes of the Skyway (I-90) near 68th Street, according to police and unconfirmed dispatch reports. Five ambulances were called to the scene, and paramedics took a child and four adults to hospitals, a Fire Media Affairs spokesman said. The child was taken in serious-to-critical condition to University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital.
