Des Moines-Ames, IAA police officer has been injured in a crash near Interstate 35 in central Iowa.
Huxley Police Chief Mark Pote told Des Moines television station KCCI that the officer was stopped near the interstate when another vehicle rammed into the police cruiser from behind. The driver of that vehicle was taken into custody to face possible charges of drunken driving.
The officer was taken to Mary Greeley Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. He was identified as Nick Swanson.

Billings, MTA man accused of driving drunk and crashing into a Billings police car Tuesday morning made an initial court appearance Wednesday.
Brett Allen Jones, 29, appeared in Yellowstone County Justice Court on charges of felony criminal endangerment and a misdemeanor count of DUI, or an alternate misdemeanor charge of operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level greater than .08 percent.
Judge Pedro R. Hernandez set bond at $10,000 and ordered Jones to appeared for arraignment in Yellowstone County District Court on May 2.

Boston, MAPolice say a New Hampshire man crashed into three police cruisers, causing minor injuries to two Salem officers.
Police say they found 30-year-old Luis Figueroa passed out in the front seat of a running car stopped on a road in a condominium complex on Friday night.
When the officer woke him, police say he sped off, hitting several parked cars, before driving head-on into a police cruiser, pushing it back about 15 feet. Police say he hit two other cruisers as he tried to get away.

Indianapolis, INA man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he crashed his vehicle into a squad car and later blew a .12 percent on a breath test.
Around 2:40 a.m., an officer was sitting in his parked police vehicle in the 300 block of South Meridian Street when he noticed a vehicle exiting the wrong way from a parking lot, a police report said.
The officer then felt an impact on his car, got out, and saw that the vehicle had hit the left rear bumper of the squad car, causing light damage and scuffing.

Hartford & New Haven, CTA 25-year-old New Britain man was charged with operating under the influence after he crashed into a Middletown police cruiser early Sunday, police said.
Christopher Griffiths, 25, struck a cruiser operated by Officer Patrick Kiely at the intersection of Washington and High streets around 12:50 a.m., police said. Kiely was stopped at a red light when Griffiths struck him from behind.

San Diego, CAA woman suspected of drunken driving was arrested early Monday after authorities said she drove the wrong way on two highways and collided with a California Highway Patrol car.
Authorities were notified about 1:35 a.m. that a driver in a Mitsubishi Mirage was heading west in the eastbound lanes of state Route 52. The driver then exited onto Interstate 5 and headed south in the northbound lanes where she sideswiped the patrol car, the CHP said.
The driver was stopped and taken into custody and booked into jail on DUI charges, the CHP said.
No injuries were reported.

Philadelphia, PAPolice say a suspected drunk driver lost control of his mini-van near 11th and West Cumberland Street and crashed into a car going through the intersection.
It happened at about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
The vehicle then careened off that car and then came to a halt when his van smashed into two police cars that were stopped nearby.
One 22nd District police officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment of minor non-life threatening injuries. He is expected to be released.

Monday, February 24, 2014A man faces multiple charges including DWI and assault with a deadly weapon after a police officer was injured in a crash Tuesday night.
Archdale Police Officer J.A. Jeffries was injured in the crash around 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of Gregg Street and Robert Lane. He was treated for minor injuries at High Point Regional Hospital and released.
Vernon Timothy Dehart, 47, of Trinity, was treated for minor injuries at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Archdale police allege Dehart sped toward Jeffries and hit his patrol vehicle.

Cleveland-Akron, OHA 24-year-old man police said crashed into a stopped zone car and fled Friday night is also accused of being drunk and not having a license, according to court records.
Edward Hughes Jr. faces drunken driving and open container charges, as well as failing to stop at an accident, failure to control and not having a driver's license, according to Cleveland Municipal Court records.
Two officers were stopped in traffic at East 93rd Street and Kinsman Avenue about 9:55 p.m. Friday when Hughes struck the car, police said.
