A fatal crash occurred Wednesday night in Creek County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. Arlie Clint Cates, 49, of Bristow, died from injuries suffered in a crash about 11:45 p.m. on State Highway 66 just west of W 271 Street, the patrol reports. Cates died in a Sapulpa hospital after the crash. Passenger Davied Van Orsdol, 49, of Bristow, was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was treated for a back injury. Seat belts were not in use. Cates was driving east on SH 66 when he drove off the roadway. Cates and Orsdol were ejected.

A Merrillville man has been injured after his snowmobile struck a hard three-foot pile of snow. The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says the accident occurred about 6 p.m. Sunday in Griffith, about 25 miles southeast of Chicago. Conservation Officer Shawn Brown says 39-year-old John Budack was riding a snowmobile on a local bicycle trail when the vehicle struck a hard mound of snow, knocking him off. Budack was taken to a hospital in Munster and was being treated for a possible broken leg and broken wrists.

Tarpon Springs Police have identified two people killed in a crash Saturday on U.S. 19. Dive teams members with the Tarpon Springs PD found one vehicle in this retention pond. Nicholas Ray Osborn, 37, and Marco S. Valez, 39, of Clearwater died when the 1998 Mercedes SLK 230 they were in lost control in a northbound lane and crashed into a pond just before 3 a.m. The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 19 and Martin Luther King Jr. Investigators think the Mercedes may have been racing a white car that witnesses saw leaving the area.

A 50-year-old Apollo Beach man died Saturday night from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle crash in Spring Hill. Randall Edward Brougher was pronounced dead at the scene just after 8 p.m. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report Brougher was traveling south on California St. just north of Blair Ave. on his 2014 Harley Davidson Motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. The bike veered onto the shoulder and turned over. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected. The motorcycle came to rest on the west shoulder of the roadway. The investigation continues.

A New Hampshire woman is recovering from injuries suffered when her snowmobile hit a rock wall on Lake Umbagog in Errol. New Hampshire Fish and Game officials say 43-year-old Roxanne Bonney was traveling a high rate of speed across the lake when she struck exposed rocks and was thrown from her snowmobile. She was taken by ambulance to Androscoggin Valley Hospital for treatment. The accident happened at about 5 p.m. Saturday.

A Spokane man was injured in a snowmobile accident in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest on Saturday morning. Brian Davisson, 45, was ejected from his snowmobile and hit a snow drift near the Skitwish warming hut, according to a news release from Kootenai County Sheriff’s Dept. Davisson was then struck by another snowmobile, Higgins said. Emergency workers were summoned to the scene about 11:30 a.m. Davisson was treated at the warming hut and taken via helicopter to Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene with non-life-threatening injuries, Higgins said.

A Pompano Beach woman was arrested after she struck and killed a motorcyclist Friday, then fled and tried to cover up the evidence, deputies said. Nadia Verdoni, 42, was charged with DUI manslaughter, leaving the scene involving death and tampering with evidence, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

A person was killed in a crash on Interstate 40 in Seminole County early Wednesday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. The name of the driver had not been released Wednesday evening. The crash happened about 2 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-40 at mile marker 198 about 9 miles north of Seminole, the patrol reported. The driver was ejected and the car caught fire. It is not known if the driver wore a seat belt.

Two children have serious injuries after crashing their all-terrain vehicle in southwest Florida. According to Florida Highway Patrol, 9-year-old Angela Wright was driving the ATV when it crashed Sunday afternoon in Lehigh Acres. Troopers say the ATV flipped over as it approached a telephone pole in a grassy area. According to a crash report, both the girl and her 16-year-old passenger Kyle Pilgrim were thrown off the ATV in the crash. Troopers say the teenager struck the telephone pole after being ejected, and the ATV struck the 9-year-old after she was thrown off.

One person was killed and another critically injured in an early morning crash in Burlington County. It happened around 2:10 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Charleston Road and Birchwood Lane. Police say a 2004 Cadillac Wagon was overturned on the roadway after striking a snow embankment. Both victims, 33-year-old Danielle Martin and 38-year-old Michele McGee, were ejected on the vehicle. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene. McGee was flown to Capital Health Medical Center in Mercer County in serious condition.
