Arlie Clint Cates, 49, killed, Davied Van Orsdol, 49, injured, taken to hospital, after their vehicle leaves the State Highway 66 roadway near Sapulpa, Oklahoma

A fatal crash occurred Wednesday night in Creek County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. Arlie Clint Cates, 49, of Bristow, died from injuries suffered in a crash about 11:45 p.m. on State Highway 66 just west of W 271 Street, the patrol reports. Cates died in a Sapulpa hospital after the crash. Passenger Davied Van Orsdol, 49, of Bristow, was taken to a Tulsa hospital where he was treated for a back injury. Seat belts were not in use. Cates was driving east on SH 66 when he drove off the roadway. Cates and Orsdol were ejected.
