According to investigators, Rodney Goods was driving east on U.S. 70 when he ran a red light in a Chevrolet SUV at about 7:45 a.m. near Pine Street. The SUV hit another vehicle, which had a 19-year-old male driver from Princeton. No information about their injuries has been released. Goods suffered minor injuries in the wreck, but he refused to go to the hospital. He was also charged with driving with a revoked license, running a red light and a vehicle registration violation. He was sent to the Johnston County jail Saturday under a $15,000 bond.

A teen slammed into a utility pole in his mother's car in Clayton, North Carolina. The accident took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. Saturday on Josephine Road. The utility pole was knocked over, and troopers say that the 14-year-old boy driving the car succumbed to minor injuries and was sent to a Clayton hospital. Authorities say alcohol wasn't a factor in the crash, but the State Highway Patrol is planning to seek charges because of the driver's age. Nearby roads have been blocked off while Duke Energy replaces the pole.

A Maryland man died Friday evening in an accident on the N.C. Highway 55 Bypass in Apex. Andrew Shank, 20, was driving about 70 mph as he exited N.C. I-540. He crossed all lanes of traffic, and then his vehicle went airborne and crashed upside down in an embankment. Shank was pronounced deceased at the crash site.  No additional information was immediately available.

Just before 6:00pm, Parrish was reducing her speed on Vicksboro Road in order to make a turn, but Burgess, who was traveling behind her and had Walker as a passenger, failed to reduce her speed and rear-ended Parrish. That collision pushed Parrish's vehicle into oncoming traffic where it collided with a vehicle driven by Steed. Walker was killed, while Burgess, Parrish, and Steed were all hospitalized with serious injuries as a result of the crash.

A toddler and a teenager are among four people who died in a head-on car accident in Edgecombe County Sunday. The collision occurred shortly before noon near Pinetops when a car crossed the center line of NC 42 and hit another vehicle head-on. The deceased victims as Stephanie Collins, 45, Alan Thompson, 30, Mickeyla Little, 15, and Christian Thompson, 2. The surviving victim, Randy Collins of Elm City, is listed in stable condition at a Greenville hospital. Speed appears to have been a factor. Check back for more information as it becomes available.

A solider from Livingston County was killed in a car accident Sunday at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Spc. Nethaniel H. Wolfson, 22, of Geneseo died Sunday following a one-car accident. Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash. Wolfson served with the 82nd Airborne Division as a signal systems support specialist. He entered active duty service in April of 2013.  Wolfson was the recipient of awards including the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon. The accident took place around 10:15 a.m. at the Wake Technical Community College northern campus in Raleigh, when a 40-foot-high pedestrian bridge being built collapsed while concrete was being poured onto one section of it. One worker died, and all four of the injured were brought to the hospital. Their exact conditions are not yet available.

One person died Sunday after a single vehicle motorcycle wreck near 477 Creech Johnson Rd. in Zebulon. Derek Wiggins, 37, of Middlesex, lost control on a curve and crashed at about 3:45 p.m near his mother's residence.

A 17-year-old died Friday in a single vehicle accident on Johnson Farm Road in Cumberland County. Brian Widhalm was driving on Johnson Farm Road near Eliot Farm Road at 3:20 p.m. Friday when the crash happened. Widhalm swerved off the side of the road, overcorrected, and collided with a tree on the left side on the road.
