A worker died and four others were injured in a construction accident at a North Carolina community college.
One Worker Dies When NC Pedestrian Bridge Collapses
Jeff Hammerstein with Wake EMS says he thinks the highest point on the bridge was 40 feet above the ground.
The accident took place around 10:15 a.m. at the Wake Technical Community College northern campus in Raleigh, when a 40-foot-high pedestrian bridge being built collapsed while concrete was being poured onto one section of it. One worker died, and all four of the injured were brought to the hospital. Their exact conditions are not yet available.
