driver was taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after a crash on state Route 125 in Santee.

The crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. on the northbound side of SR-125 near Mission Gorge Road and prompted a Sig Alert. It was canceled at about 9:40 p.m.

Emergency crews had to use ropes to get the vehicle's door open to rescue the driver.

He was airlifted to Sharp Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
