Friends remember deputy's daughter killed on I-26
Orangeburg County deputies were dispatched to the westbound lanes near the Homestead Road exit just before 9:45 p.m. to investigate a suspicious death on the interstate. A witness told a trooper they observed a woman's leg coming out a silver van before the door closed, according to sheriff's department incident report. Seconds later the door re-opened and it appeared Davis may have been pushed out of the van before she was struck by an 18-wheeler, the witness said.

Deputies have reason to believe a person in the van with Davis may have been a woman by the name of Ebony from Charleston. They don't know what Ebony's last name could be.

31-year-old Ebony Roddick of 100 Lorick Circle has been charged with failure to give information/render aid to 21-year-old Dominique Davis, according to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenll.

"It was a pretty horrific accident," said Fogle. "Right now, we're trying to determine whether or not there was any foul play or anything involved."
