Jefferson County dispatchers said a medical helicopter was called about 4 p.m., but was canceled at 4:13 p.m.

Mr. Davis told state police he was traveling north on the county road, also known as Ives Street Road, when he entered the southbound lane in an attempt to pass the skateboarder, but the youth also moved into the southbound lane and the truck struck him just before 4 p.m.

Another teenager, Donovan H. Desormeau, 13, of County Route 65, Watertown, who was struck by a truck while riding a skateboard on County Route 65 on April 15, was still listed in critical condition Tuesday, according to a spokeswoman for Upstate Medical University.
Police received report of an accident involving a truck and a teenaged boy on a skateboard at about 3:54pm. The boy, identified as Donovan H. Desormeau, 13, was riding his skateboard north on County Route 65 when a northbound truck driven by Howard P. Davis, 45, approached him from behind. Davis said that he attempted to pass Desormeau by going into the southbound lane, but that the teenager went into the southbound lane at the same time and was struck by the vehicle. Desormeau was first taken to Samaritan Medical Center via ambulance before being airlifted to Upstate Medical University, where he is in criticial condition.
