Hornell teen dies in New Year’s Eve car crash

The New York State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene, as did the Canisteo Fire and Ambulance Corp. and the Hornell City Ambulance.

Hornell teen faces manslaughter, DWI charges

Thomas J. Flynn, 18, of Crescent Street, faces a felony charge of second-degree manslaughter and a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated, Bath State Police said.

Hornell man faces manslaughter charge; passenger died

Police said Flynn's 2001 Ford Ranger skidded across the oncoming lane of County Route 29 in Canisteo and hit a tree at 9:54 p.m. that night. 
A Hornell teen was killed Chistmas Eve around 10 p.m. after the vehicle he was a passenger in exited County Route 29 in the Town of Canisteo and smashed into a tree. The driver of the vehicle, Thomas Flynn, 18, Hornell, was charged by New York State Police with driving while intoxicated. Flynn’s passenger, Hunter Kolesar, 19, was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where he died. Flynn was also taken to Packer Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.

I grew up with this young man, my brother turns 27 this yr, and if Hunter were here, he would be 28. I hope you weren't in pain when you passed. I'm almost a decade late in giving you your memoir; I'm so sorry; my life got turned upside down after you left me; I like to think that in another life, we sit across from each other at the dinner table and write a grocery list.
