Happy Valley crash victim identified

Police said all three vehicles were driving traveling on Oregon 212 when a Mazda Tribute tried to pass the motorcycles. The SUV struck the motorcycles, causing one of the riders to be thrown from his bike and into the path of the SUV. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The motorcyclist who was killed in a crash Monday night in Happy Valley has been identified as Michael Anthony Palmeri, 59, of Clackamas.

At 6:25 p.m. Happy Valley police responded to a crash involving a car and two motorcycles on Oregon 212 near Southeast 142nd Avenue. Police said all three vehicles were driving traveling on Oregon 212 when a Mazda Tribute tried to pass the motorcycles.

The SUV struck the motorcycles, causing one of the riders to be thrown from his bike and into the path of the SUV. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other motorcyclist, William Lester Billingsley, 44, of Portland, was hit but not injured.

The SUV driver, Adam Lee Schuler, 42, of Milwaukie was not injured. The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is forwarding charges of reckless driving to the District Attorney's Office.

Too bad the driver wasn't tested for drugs at the scene. He is a chronic drug user and currently in 12 hours a day outpatient rehab.

And not to mention a thief who stole from his own workplace to support his habit.
