Two dead, one injured in wreck involving dump truck in Ft. Bend County

Two Needville high school students died and a third was hurt when a dump truck collided with a car in Ft. Bend County Friday.

Two Needville high school students died and a third was hurt when a dump truck collided with a car in Ft. Bend County Friday.

It happened around 4:40pm on FM 762 and LW Cumings. The sheriff's office says a car carrying three teens took a curve too fast and hit the back of the truck.

The car driver and rear passenger were killed, a second passenger was hospitalized.

The teens who died have been identified as 18-year-olds Wilmer Rodriguez and Alejandro Lopez. The name of the third victim has not yet been released.

School officials at Needville released this statement saying:

"Our community will embrace the families impacted ... in every way possible. Our district will provide counselors to make sure all student-needs are met."
