A four-year-old Granite City, Ill. girl and 11-year-old Granite City, Ill. boy are dead after a Saturday afternoon crash in Jefferson County, Missouri.
Four-year-old Bryleigh Greene and 11-year-old Ethan Price were passengers in the car that was struck. Three other people were injured.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Frontier and State Roads.
The 11-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The other child died after being flown to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital. Both children were buckled in.
The driver of the car, Theresa A. Godwin, a 30-year-old Granite City woman, suffered serious injuries.
Fifty-two-year-old Steven Galvin, the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash, had minor injuries. His wife, 53-year-old Cynthia Galvin, had moderate injuries. The Galvins were wearing their seatbelts.
The MSHP said Godwin was traveling eastbound while the Galvins were traveling westbound. Godwin apparently turned left in front of the oncoming car and was struck.
