Exeter man killed in single-car crash

Warwick police are investigating a single-car crash that claimed the life of an Exeter man Monday afternoon.

Police said the driver appeared to be buckled and that the air bag deployed.
It is believed that 30-year-old Brett Taraska may have either experienced a medical emergency or was under the influence of alcohol when his vehicle crossed the oncoming traffic lane and departed Ives Road at about 3:14 p.m. His vehicle crashed directly into a tree, and though he was wearing a seat belt, he was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. Why are you saying it is believed he may have been under the influence of alcohol ? He was not !!!! He was driving home from work. You just blatantly made that up !! You better watch out for law suits !!!!!

The information Accident Data Center posts comes from news sources around the country, so we are summarizing those sources in our posts.  In this case, local news is reporting based on what police have said about the accident, which is that the investigation will look into a number of reasons for the crash, only one of which could be alcohol. This is a routine part of a traffic fatality investigation, so I'm sure that the news reports are not casting judgment on the victim. All of the available news reports, as well as our summary, indicate that a medical episode is just as likely to be at fault.
