Rockaway Turnpike

A 19-year-old male pedestrian was trying to cross Rockaway Turnpike at about 9:15 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by a 55-year-old man. The teenaged pedestrian was taken to the hospital with head injuries and broken leg bones, but is in stable condition.
