A man is in stable condition after he was struck by a car in Lawrence Tuesday night, according to Nassau County Police.

A 19-year-old male pedestrian was trying to cross Rockaway Turnpike at about 9:15 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by a 55-year-old man. The teenaged pedestrian was taken to the hospital with head injuries and broken leg bones, but is in stable condition. Neither the driver nor his passenger were hurt, and he will not likely be charged.
