Mom fights off carjackers trying to steal car with 2 children inside (VIDEO)
This story is giving me heart palpitations from second-hand adrenaline.
On Monday night in Hialeah, Florida, three would-be carjackers attacked two women at a Tom Thumb gas station. The suspects rushed the two vehicles with guns drawn, and the first woman was able to jump into her SUV and lock the doors. At this point they ran for the second vehicle, a small red convertible. One of the suspects got into the driver's seat, but that's when the owner of the car, 21-year-old Angie Padron reached inside and DRAGGED HIM OUT.
Usually this sort of action seems rash, but in this case, Padron wasn't just protecting her car: her two small children were inside. News station KTLA reports:
Before the would-be carjacker could close the door, a woman is seen in the video reaching in and pulling the person out of the car.
“She’s able to drag him out of the car while the other one on the other side runs away like a coward,” Sgt. Carl Zogby of the Hialeah Police Department told local TV station WPLG.
The 21-year-old woman’s two children were inside the car at the time, the station reported.
“Little did they know this was a mom, and she wasn’t going to let that car be taken,” Zogby said.
After two foiled carjackings, the suspects fled the scene but were caught after a short pursuit. Watch in the surveillance video as, after dragging an armed man out of a car with her bare hands, the young mother straightens her shirt like a total badass. Meanwhile, somebody give me a Xanax.
