1 dead, 1 inured in early morning accident

An early morning accident on Wednesday left one person dead and another injured. A Honda Civic collided with a Dodge Ram just before 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of 50th Street and Fifth Avenue South. Birmingham police are reconstructing the accident as part of their investigation.

A man was killed in car crash this morning at an eastern Birmingham intersection The victim has not yet been identified. The crash happened at 8:07 a.m. at the intersection of 50th Street and Fifth Avenue South. The crash remains under investigation, but police said no charges are expected against the pickup driver. Birmingham police said the victim was driver a Honda traveling westbound on Fifth Avenue. He stopped, and then began to turn left onto 50th street.
