State troopers said Ryan Gaven Gray, 19, 5091 Lauderdale 136, Lexington, was critically injured in a one-car accident that happened just before midnight Friday. Officials said the accident took place on Lauderdale 8, Greenhill, near Otha Jaynes Auction House. Troopers said Gray was a passenger in a car driven by Scott Bennett Jones, 21, Lexington. Jones was injured and flown to Huntsville Hospital, but was treated and later released. Also, injured were Ashlyn Summer Putman, 16, Florence, and Brooke Ciera King, 17, Lexington.
Man pleads to negligent homicide in fatal wreck
Scott B. Jones, 21, 45 Dogwood Lane, agreed to the plea agreement, Lauderdale County District Attorney Chris Connolly said. Jones was initially charged with manslaughter.
A Lexington teenager died today at Huntsville Hospital from injuries sustained in a Friday night traffic accident, authorities said, while three others were injured. The accident remains under investigation by the troopers' Quad-Cities Post.
