Alabama A&M star DB Danny Johnson killed in car crash

Johnson, 20, was a passenger in a 2011 Kia that collided head-on with a 1999 Dodge pickup truck shortly after 8 a.m. According to Alabama State Troopers, Johnson was not wearing his seatbelt. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Johnson was a two-year starter for the Bulldogs football team. He's remembered as an outstanding athlete who loved the game.

Memorial vigil tonight for Alabama A&M football player killed in crash last week

The vigil for 20-year-old Danny Johnson will begin at 6:45 p.m. at Louis Crews Stadium, according to the university. Johnson, a sophomore football player, was killed Thursday. 

His funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Fellowship of Faith Church on North Memorial Parkway in Huntsville. Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m.
