One person was killed in the collisions Thursday evening near Flomaton, about 65 miles northeast of Mobile. Trooper Jamie Malloy says at least five others were injured.

Alabama Department of Public Safety officials say 51-year-old Mary Daphine Bridges of Spanish Fort died after a fiery crash Thursday in the northbound lanes of I-65.

She died in a nine-vehicle crash near Flomaton reported around 5:20 p.m. on April 2. Authorities transported five other people to local hospitals with injuries, Maloy said.
A tractor-trailer rear-ended another vehicle on Interstate 65, causing a chain reaction crash that involved six other vehicles. One person and at least five other people were injured in the incident. The identity of the deceased will be released after next of kin are notified. Authorities are still investigating this accident.
