ALEXANDER CITY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say one person died and two others were injured when two boats collided on Lake Martin. Local media report that 66-year-old Stanley Sides of Alexander City died when a bass boat hit the back of the pontoon boat he was operating. Authorities say two passengers on the pontoon boat were treated for injuries at Russell Medical Center. No information was immediately released about the driver or any passengers on the bass boat. The crash happened around 8:45 p.m. in Kowaliga Bay, in the Tallapoosa River channel of Lake Martin between Dennis Creek and Mallard Point.
