One person was killed Friday evening when an 18-wheeler plunged off an interstate on-ramp in Montgomery, according to reports.

“It's very upsetting. Diesel fuel, once it strikes and hits that flash point, it's going to make that fire like that. This happened before right up here on the other street corner. And for it to happen again in this same little section under the interstate, it worries me a lot for the kids and the pedestrians that walk up and down this thoroughfare here," he said.
The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Friday when the truck went over the edge of a ramp at the Interstate 65/85 interchange, and crashed to the road below. The truck then caught fire. Witnesses extracgted the driver from the vehicle, but the victim was later pronounced deceased at the crash site.
