Mavis Elaine Beavers, 62, and Mavis Johnson Boutwell, 80, killed and Nishat S. Momin, 19, and Mohmedraza S. Momin, 20, injured in two-car collision at U.S. 84 and Covington Road 73 near Opp, Alabama

An elderly mother and daughter were killed in a collision with two teenagers 10:30 a.m. on U.S. 84 in the intersection of Covington Road 73, one mile west of Opp, Alabama.  62-year-old Mavis Elaine Beavers and 80-year-old Mavis Johnson Boutwell, both of Opp, died when their 2006 Honda Civic crashed with a 2003 Nissan Frontier driven by 20-year-old Mohmedraza S. Momin with passenger 19-year-old Nishat S. Momin, who were injured and taken to a local hospital. The cause of the crash is being investigated by Alabama State Troopers.
