Alaska State Troopers say poor road conditions were a factor in a single-vehicle wreck on the Parks Highway Monday night that left a Talkeetna man injured and his rare electric sports car a total loss.

Trooper spokesman Tim DeSpain says roads from Willow to Trapper Creek were "pure ice." West was wearing his seat belt and was treated at the scene for head cuts but was not taken to a hospital.
Jack West was driving his rare Tesla Roadster, an electronic sports car that has been out of production since 2011, when he lost control on an icy road and crashed, totaling the car. He was wearing his seatbelt, and was not seriously hurt.
