1 teen dead, 5 ejected in Casa Grande car crash.
A 16-year-old boy has died and four other teens are hospitalized after their car collided with another early Sunday morning, police said.
It happened on Maricopa/Casa Grande Highway near Bianco Road at 12:12 a.m.
Five occupants in a Chevrolet Impala were ejected after it crashed into a Chevrolet Silverado, according to Casa Grande police spokesman Thomas Anderson.
Anderson said Randy Puerner, 19; Justin Harrington, 17; Dakota Repass, 16, and Anthony Brooks, 16, were airlifted to Phoenix area hospitals. Their conditions are not known. All five remain hospitalized in various Phoenix area hospitals.
James Seaton, 16, did not survive his injuries.
Jennifer McGee, 34, of Maricopa, was driving the Silverado and suffered serious injuries, Anderson said.
Investigators believe the Impala was heading east when it entered a westbound lane and speed may have been a factor.
Investigators have reopened a roadway between Val Vista Boulevard and Bianco Road.
