Women killed while crossing Cactus Road in Peoria, AZ

A woman in her 20s was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing a road in Peoria on Wednesday evening, officials said. Peoria police say the woman was crossing Cactus Road near 73rd Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. when she was struck by a truck that was making a left turn into a driveway. Impairment did not appear to be a factor for either party, but authorities said an official determination will be made during the investigation. Cactus Road will remain closed in both directions from 67th to 75th Avenue for several hours, according to authorities.
