A vehicle that fled from police collided with a dump truck filled with gravel early Tuesday morning in south Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
A vehicle that fled from police collided with a dump truck filled with gravel early Tuesday morning in south Phoenix, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The crash occurred on 19th Avenue near Interstate 17, but the incident originally started at 15th Avenue and Roeser Road when a driver failed to yield to officers, said Sgt. Steve Martos, a Phoenix police spokesman.
Officers did not pursue the car but later came upon the collision, Martos said.
The driver of the vehicle suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and was processed for a DUI, Martos said.
The wreck caused some restrictions near I-17, but police had the area cleared by the start of the Tuesday morning rush hour.
