The woman was hit by a vehicle heading southbound, according to police. The vehicle, described as a small, red car, fled the scene after fatally striking the woman.

"A tip from the community actually led us to the suspect's vehicle and when we made contact with that owner, we learned that the driver was actually a 15-year-old boy who's never had a driver's license," Sgt. Jonathan Howard.
