53-year-old man in extremely critical condition after being struck by unlicensed 16-year-old driver on Broadway Road in Phoenix, Arizona

A 16-year-old unlicensed driver is accused of hitting a man on a sidewalk in Phoenix Sunday morning.
The 53-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital in extremely critical condition, Phoenix Police Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said.
It happened at 7:30 a.m. in the area of 700 E. Broadway Road.
Witnesses said the vehicle fled the scene. They were able to provide a description of the car.
