Driver charged with manslaughter in Prescott Valley crash

A Parker resident has been charged with vehicular manslaughter following a fatal crash in Prescott Valley Saturday night.

Crash at Highway 69, Fain Road kills 1

A White Ford F-350 pickup truck driven by a 39-year-old man from Parker, Arizona, was eastbound on Highway 69 approaching the intersection of Fain Road, when the truck went left of center into the oncoming lanes of traffic.

Neider is being held in the Yavapai County Jail on a $15,000 bond. In addition to the manslaughter charge, authorities say Neider also is facing seven counts of felony endangerment, three counts of DUI and felony criminal damage.
Ronald D. Darnell was driving his car on Highway 69 when a pickup crossed the centerline and collided with him head-on. Darnell died at the scene. The driver of the pickup, Joel Brandon Neider, 39, was driving while impaired. Once he was released from a hospital in Phoenix, he was charged with manslaughter, seven counts of felony endangerment, three counts of DUI and felony criminal damage.
