San Tan Valley teen struck, killed by van while jogging
A PCSO investigation showed Odane was jogging with the flow of traffic close to the eastbound lane and was struck from behind by Danielson's 1997 Ford Econoline van. Odane probably couldn't hear oncoming traffic because of the earbuds.
A 16-year-old boy out for a jog was struck by a van and killed on a dark San Tan Valley street early Tuesday morning. Jared Paul Odane was found lying on the south side of a stretch of West Combs Road that has no lighting. Odane was wearing dark clothing and earbuds.
