Scottsdale police said they believed a 48-year-old man suffered a seizure that caused him to lay down on Thomas Road before he was fatally struck and dragged by an SUV early Monday morning.

Police have determined that he must have suffered a seizure that caused him to end up lying down on Thomas Road around 3 a.m. Monday.
Louis Martinez was bicycling on Thomas Road when he suffered a seizure that forced him to lay down immediately. He was lying in the road when he was struck by a white SUV and dragged several hundred feet. He died at the scene. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
