Driver in fatal pedestrian crash facing multiple felony charges(link is external)

Tucson police have charged the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Colin Patterson, in the fatal crash on the east-side on Monday night. Officials with TPD are saying alcohol and drugs were a factor in the crash. However he lost control of the car, hit a raised median and crossed the westbound lanes of Pima before hitting a female sitting on a concrete bus bench. According to a recent release from TPD PIO Sgt. The female was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics with Tucson Fire Department provided treatment to the victim, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. She was identified by police as Rio Blackwell, 22.
