De Queen man killed in crash involving tractor-trailer

A De Queen man died after he was struck by a tractor-trailer while attempting to make a turn on a highway in Sevier County on Wednesday, according to an Arkansas State Police report. The death was the 396th in a traffic crash in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures. Michael Hospital, according to the report. State police said the driver of the tractor-trailer, 70-year-old Clifton D. Ward of Dierks, was transported to a local hospital for injuries. Travel conditions at the time of the crash were described as clear and dry.

One dead, one hurt in 2-vehicle wreck

A De Queen man was killed and a Dierks man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Sevier County on Wednesday afternoon, Arkansas State Police reported. The driver of the Mack truck, Clifton D. Ward, 70, was injured in the crash and taken to De Queen Medical Center. Norley Frank Bickley III, the 65-year-old driver of the pickup, was pronounced dead at Christus St. At the time of the crash, the weather was clear and roads were dry.
