CHP investigating a fatal crash northwest of Lost Hills

The crash happened around 5:45 Sunday morning on Twissleman Rd. and King Rd. 

Initial reports suggest that the vehicle rolled into the trees along the roadway.

It is unknown how many people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

According to police initial investigation shows a semi truck ran into the back of a Jeep SUV that was carrying a family of five. A father and a 2 year old boy died at the scene.

Two other children, one 4-5 years old and the other 9, along with the mother were transported to area hospitals. 

The 4-5 year old suffered major burns and was transferred to USC Medical Hospital. The 9 year old had moderate burns and was taken to Kern Medical. The mother was also taken to the hospital with burns on her hands.

Fiery crash claims lives of father and toddler, other passengers hospitalized

The coroner's office on Wednesday, Dec. 7, identified the people killed in this crash as 40-year-old Cesar Almanza Garcia and 3-year-old Cesar Almanza Urquiza, both Oregon residents.

TWO DEAD, THREE INJURED IN TRUCK ACCIDENT – FAMILY DEVASTATED

At this time, it is unclear what caused the accident. California Highway Patrol remained at the scene of the crash to piece together exactly what happened.
