The California Highway Patrol says a 17-year-old male was intoxicated while driving in Tehama County when he was involved in a deadly crash.
The accident occurred around 7:30 Wednesday night on near Red Bluff in Tehama County on Plymire Road, east of Mendenhall Road. Anthony Huerta, 25, was driving a Ford Focus on Plymire Road. As Huerta slowed to make a turn, a 17-year-old driving a Dodge pickup crashed into the car. The impact caused both vehicles to overturn. California Highway Patrol says Huerta was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. He died at the scene, and his passenger, Aubrey Rodriguez, 20, was brought to the hospital with a head injury. The 17-year-old was minorly injured.
