Motorists slammed into Visalia man, never stopped
Sgt. Michael Donnelly said the victim, a Visalia man in his mid-50's, was driving his Chevy pickup along Highway 137 when he lost control of the truck and crashed into a nearby fence.
The driver got out of his truck and started walking away from the crash. As he walked away, a vehicle slammed into the man.

It's unknown if Ruiz was injured at all in that accident, but Beal says he then got out of his truck and attempted to cross the road. That's when he was hit and killed.
