Motorcyclist Dead After Collision With Metro Bus in Chatsworth

One man is dead after the motorcycle he was riding crashed with a Metro bus and caught fire in Chatsworth Thursday night. The crash happened around 8:55 p.m. on the 21500 block of Nordhoff Street, west of Canoga Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The crash happened around 8:55 p.m. on the 21500 block of Nordhoff Street, west of Canoga Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Chatsworth resident Manuel Jimenez Galvan.

Galva was traveling westbound on Nordhoff Street when he collided with the front of an MTA bus that was making a left turn from eastbound Nordhoff Street, according to LAPD.

The motocyclist then continued in a northwest direction and hit the road, curb and a light pole. The motorcycle then caught on fire.

Galvan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The bus driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital in fair condition, according to LAFD.

There were no passengers aboard the bus at the time of the crash.
