Woman killed in 57 Freeway crash identified by coroner

An autopsy is pending for Juana Maria Gutierrez-Gomez, according to Ed Winter, assistant chief of investigations and operations for the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner.

4-Vehicle Crash Leaves 1 Dead, Traps Another

Four vehicles were involved in the crash, fire officials said. Patients were taken to a local hospital, at least one in critical condition.
The passenger who died in a 3-vehicle collision on the 57 Freeway has been identified as Juana Maria Gutierrez-Gomeza, 50, from Fullerton.  Four other people were injured in the collision on the northbound 57 Freeway at 12:20 p.m. Monday. A Murrieta man driving a Ford at freeway speed rear-ended a Toyota that had slowed for traffic. The Ford hit a Lexus. The Toyota and the Ford spun clockwise and struck the center divider. Gutierrez-Gomez was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Another passenger sustained major injuries. The Toyota’s driver, a 52-year-old Fullerton man, and another passenger, a 48-year-old Fullerton woman, suffered moderate injuries and were transported to UC Irvine Medical Center. The Ford’s driver had minor injuries.
